A law firm in Newark, New Jersey is seeking an Executive Legal Assistant to support Partners and Associate attorneys within their Commercial Litigation Practice group.
The Assistant will handle administrative tasks as outlined below.
Support attorneys in all aspects from new matter opening to conclusion
Assist with the preparation of court filings with Federal and State court
Edit and proofread pleadings, briefs and transactional documents
Prepare Table of Contents and Table of Authorities
Coordinate client meetings
Coordinate teleconference/video conference calls
Maintain attorney calendars and contacts
Coordinate attorney travel
Run conflict checks and prepare new matter forms for opening
Prepare engagement letters
Draft general correspondence
Enter attorney daily time entries
Prepare and process expense reimbursements
Review and finalize client bills
Skills and Requirements
Minimum of 5-7 years of legal administrative/secretarial experience in a litigation firm
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Proficient in Kofax, Best Authority, iManage, Aderant, Litera Compare and Compulaw
Possess strong organizational and technical skills
Possess excellent attention to detail
Ability to work independently and with a team
Strong work ethic, positive, solution-oriented attitude
